Know before you goWhile just about any month is great to visit Croatia, there are a few prime times of the year for the National Parks of Croatia and Islands Cruise. Here are some recommendations from our destination experts.
Spring: March to June is one of the best times to visit Croatia. Enjoy many sunny days, ideal for walks, excursions, and even swimming by late spring. April is especially wonderful – perfect for those looking to explore places like Dubrovnik without the crowds.
Summer: If you opt to visit Croatia from June to September, you can expect plentiful sunshine, warm temperatures, and summer crowds. July and August are the most exciting times to visit as the weather is fantastic and the festival season is in full swing.
Fall: The absolute best time to visit Croatia is in autumn; when the crowds are smaller, the weather is ideal, and the sea is still a bit warm. October is perfect for outdoor activities and getting to know the locals who are more relaxed after the busy summer months. Fall is also the best time to visit Dubrovnik with smaller crowds.

" Extend your trip with a 3-night adventure in the city of Dubrovnik along the coast of the sparkling Adriatic Sea. Explore this beautifully preserved, medieval walled city on a walking tour with a local guide, then enjoy time on your own to explore its many museums and galleries. In your free time, perhaps you’ll take a cable car up to the top of Mount Srdj, hop on a ferry to the nearby island of Lokrum, or simply relax at the beach and reflect on your journey through the beautiful Croatian coast.
"
Enjoy a morning tour of the quaint Kornic Ethnographic Collection, where you will tour a two-story family house. Complete with antique furniture, utensils, and tools, the home reflects a bygone era where family members farmed, cooked, cleaned, sewed, and performed all housekeeping duties by hand. You will then travel to Punat, a village located in a serene and well-protected bay that has served as a safe-haven for ships, fishermen, and sailors for centuries. It is also home to the oldest and largest marina on the Adriatic Sea. From Punat, you’ll embark on a taxi-boat and head to the small, but beautiful, island Košljun — an island covered by dense forest and over 400 different species of mushrooms. The centerpiece of our visit to Košljun is the pristine fifteenth-century Franciscan monastery. Inside, a dazzling collection of folk costumes and rare Glagolitic manuscripts awaits.
This guided tour takes you through 2 square kilometers of the blue-green splendor of Krka National Park, a 109-square kilometer paradise along the Krka River. At the river banks, you can get an up-close look at several perfectly preserved ecosystems including a vast floral composition along the Tufa waterfalls. A highlight of this excursion is a revitalizing round-trip walk along the river’s longest waterfall, Skradinski Buk - one of the best-known natural beauties of Croatia that is best seen at the end of the walk. Krka National Park is home to the first European hydroelectric power plant – a now historical site – and provided the first source of electricity to the city of Sibenik, thanks to Nikola Tesla. During your guided tour, you’ll also visit the Ethnic Village where inside you’ll find a traditional folk village complete with mills, souvenir shops, and ethnographic exhibition venues. Your time in Krka National Park will end with a scenic boat ride along the river to Skradin, where the Krka River meets with the Adriatic Sea. The coach will then bring you back to your cruise ship.
