Practice Experience
Jake Alpren represents clients in connection with a wide variety of litigation matters, including antitrust, white-collar criminal defense, trade secret, products liability, wrongful termination, unfair competition, insurance coverage and numerous other general and complex business and commercial matters. Prior to joining Collette Erickson Farmer & O'Neill LLP, Jake clerked for the Hon. Nicholas G. Garaufis in the Eastern District of New York, and worked as an associate with Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges.
Prior to law school, Jake was Shanghai Bureau Chief for Associated Press-Dow Jones News Services. As a result of his six years in China, he speaks and reads Mandarin Chinese with a high level of proficiency. Because of his legal experience and fluency in Mandarin, Jake has been invited by numerous PRC and Taiwanese law firms, corporations and industry associations to provide training seminars on U.S. and international law topics (in Mandarin Chinese). Jake also regularly communicates with Chinese speaking clients in Mandarin Chinese and is experienced in reading Chinese legal documents.
