Know before you goWhile just about any month is great to visit Scotland, there are a few prime times of the year for the Discover Scotland tour. Here are some recommendations from our destination experts.
Spring: During the springtime, you’ll find fewer crowds in places like Orkney and the Isle of Skye, which can give you more opportunities to take the time to appreciate your surroundings.
Summer: August is the perfect time to visit Edinburgh, as the Military Tattoo and Edinburgh Festival both take place then. It’s crowded, but the city is alive with many cultural events. And generally, it’s good weather (fingers crossed for not too much rain!). Places like Orkney and the Isle of Skye can be crowded, too, but longer days give you more time to explore.
Fall: After mid-September, there are fewer crowds at Orkney and the Isle of Skye, making your visit all the more relaxing.
